In the research project "Stadtquartier 2050", two neighbourhoods in two cities are to be refurbished and equipped with digital technologies. The aim of these measures is to achieve a climate-neutral energy supply for the two residential quarters. The technical infrastructure solutions include the use of local renewable energies (e.g. PV on roofs and facades), geothermal energy and biomass from the urban forest. Through storage and the integration of e-mobility, the renewable energy is to be used in the best possible way. The refurbishment measures are to be designed in a socially acceptable way without generating additional costs for the tenant. At the same time, a neighbourhood app is to be developed, which will encourage users to minimise energy consumption by providing recommendations for action and a bonus system.
